Big Sandy Strutters Sponsor Y.H.E.C. Event!

A
huge THANK YOU goes to Warren Cummings and the Lincoln County Big Sandy
Strutters Chapter for recently sponsoring the grand prize and many other awards
for the 2008 NRA Eastern Colorado Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) event
held at the Flagler Lake State Wildlife Area earlier this month.
The Big
Sandy Strutters provided a new 20 gauge NWTF engraved youth pump shotgun to the
top youth competitor for the two day event. The winner (pictured below right
along with Perry Brewer, Colorado State University Extension Agent and YHEC
Event Coordinator) of the shotgun is Wesley Williams of Stratton,
Colorado.
Warren and the Strutters Chapter also provided awards to top
placing Junior, Senior and Adult competitors for each days'
contest.
According to the Event Coordinator, it is "indeed an honor to have
the Big Sandy Strutters take such a big interest in our event. This shows how
committed the NWTF and its local chapters are in supporting and promoting youth
oriented hunting and outdoors activities."
Youth Hunter Education
Challenge is the National Rifle Association's "graduate studies" program in
outdoor skills and safety training for young hunters and the program is
conducted under simulated hunting conditions to provide the best practical
environment for reinforcing and testing a young hunter's skills. |
